After a long and hard evaluation of all our options we at Temple Shinto have come to the very hard decision that we will not be breeding any Finnish Lapphund in New Zealand.
This is an emotional time as we had high hopes of contributing to the reintroduction of the breed in New Zealand however as a member of the DogsNZ Accredited Breeder Scheme we do not wish to start without a strong foundation to begin our journey.
We value and appreciate all the support given to us in the early stages of this endeavor and thank those who have listened and advised us based on the facts of the situation, this has ultimately helped us to reach this very disappointing decision.
Going forward, Temple Shinto will remain breeding, exhibiting and being owned by Tibetan Spaniels. (with one Lappy who can continue trying to herd ducks, pukeko's and anything else she sees fit to herd)
